An elderly Faun who studied magic, genetics, and Dust in the early days of her life becoming one of the pre-eminent scientists in these fields. That knowledge led to her being recruited by the Usonian Military for Project Eclipse with the goal of breaking the military's and nations dependence on Moon Dust and Moonshine as reserves dwindled and caches dried up.
She was able to isolate and combine certain genetics and mutate them intentionally using large amounts of Shine fueled magic. Jumpstarting a magic-genetic reaction which granted the subject magical abilities without continued reliance on Dust or Pacts. Unfortunately, there were side-effects of the mutations that weren't perfectly controllable. She was studying the successful subjects and refining the process when the war ended and Prohibition started, drying up funding and her source of Moonshine.
The project was shuttered and the subjects and researched were sent on their way, often under some kind of monitoring from the military. It's her hope that her project can restart one day and free people from the binds of addiction and the Gods.
