They did their best to raise Paul and his siblings, but the stress of it all led them to using Moon Dust and Moonshine more and more until they deteriorated into Lunatics, leaving Paul, the oldest, to raise the rest as best he could. They died in a situation that Paul does not or will not remember and the police offered very few answers for.
